Megan M. Kemp, an associate with SBWD Law, represents individuals throughout the State of Maryland and concentrates on civil litigation, family law matters, and estate planning matters including the drafting of wills, power of attorney, and advance medical directives. Megan works closely with her clients and handles cases from early investigation through trial.
Megan received her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, with a double minor in Photography and Law and Civic Engagement. As an undergraduate student, Megan was a member of the Notre Dame of Maryland University Varsity Tennis team and was team captain for two years. Additionally, Megan was a member of Omega Phi Alpha, National Service Sorority, where she served as Service Director, overseeing approximately thirty service projects and seventy members. She was also a member of the University’s Trailblazer program as a first generation college student and a member of the Ethics Bowl team through the Philosophy Department. Megan’s extracurricular activities while in college provided an excellent framework for working with clients and colleagues at SBWD Law. .
After attending Notre Dame of Maryland University, Megan attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she served as Community Service Chair for the Maryland Public Interest Law Project and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During her attendance at law school, Megan completed her Health Law Concentration and worked on a variety of civil cases whilst enrolled in the Healthcare/Delivery for People Living with HIV Clinic. Megan also utilized her time in law school to further prepare her for family law cases, including becoming certified to represent children in custody cases, and by becoming certified to practice Collaborative Law.
After graduating from law school, Megan served as a volunteer attorney for Maryland Legal Aid, and became a staff attorney for Maryland Legal Aid in 2019. While working for Maryland Legal Aid, Megan handled a variety of cases that include landlord/tenant, consumer, family law, and estate planning matters.
Outside of practicing law, Megan enjoys spending time with her partner, Joseph. She is an Eastern Shore native and enjoys watching soccer, ice hockey, and mixed martial arts. In her spare time, Megan enjoys traveling, powerlifting, and a great cup of coffee.
