Baltimore County residents are reeling from the aftermath of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles that closed Liberty Road and left one person dead on the afternoon of Oct. 2.
Baltimore County police were called to the scene of the accident at approximately 1 p.m., on Sunday. The accident occurred in the 6400 block of Liberty Road in what police call a busy section of the Lochearn area of Maryland.
Police reported four people in the accident were rushed to nearby hospitals after sustaining what were thought to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A fifth person suffering cardiac arrest was also taken to a nearby hospital. The news article states one of the victims later died, though it was not immediately clear if it was the person who had a heart attack or one of the other accident victims.
Baltimore County police are still investigating the cause of the accident and the identities of the victims have not been released. It is not known whether charges have been filed against either of the two drivers involved or who police believe was at fault in the crash.
This fatal car accident leaves residents and family members with more questions than answers. When someone loses a loved one so suddenly, issues pertaining to wrongful death come into question and families of deceased victims often want to know who was at fault. Similarly, the four victims seriously injured in the crash may have to deal with a diminished quality of life after the incident.
