Sarah Proctor, associate attorney at SBWD law, joined the firm in the winter of 2025. Sarah brings 22 years of prosecutorial experience to SBWD law as she focuses on family law, while also contributing to police accountability unit. Her immense experience in litigation of complex legal and evidentiary matters is a specialty she brings to the firm. Sarah has paved the way in key evidentiary issues thru the appellate process in Maryland, with several opinions affirming her work as a litigator; to include, the Maryland Supreme Court affirming a conviction by further defining responsibility as it relates to modern technology used by the offender. In 2017, Sarah prosecuted an individual whom had sexually abused over 42 children while employed as a school teacher in Charles County. Sarah is committed to justice for all, her prior litigation focused on the most vulnerable of the population.
Sarah completed her undergraduate degree at Florida State University (FSU) in Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Communication. While attending FSU, Sarah worked for the Center For Independent Living of North Florida by writing and processing grants for the nonprofit.
Sarah received her law degree at Nova Southeastern University, Florida. During her studies, Sarah pursued a litigation track by interning at the State’s Attorney’s Office of the 4th Judicial Circuit (Jacksonville). After she completed her internship, she continued her work as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville. She would continue her prosecuting career, specializing in sexual abuse, homicides, and major crimes for 22 years.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, advocating for special needs children, and cheering on the Eagles and Phillies!
